We offer an extensive range of well taught painting holidays in Italy, and also 'creative' (enjoy yourself but help and advice is on hand) painting holidays throughout the year. Our art and painting courses suit everyone from beginner to expert. Pheona is able to offer excellent tuition applying accelerated learning techniques gained during her time as a senior lecturer in Universities in Great Britain. Not only will you have a lovely relaxing and creative drawing or painting holiday, you will go home with knowledge about how to improve your painting in the future.

In particular we are very proud of the progress our 'absolute beginners' make on our courses. We find it helpful to have all the 'beginners' together so that students can share their learning experiences and maximise their progress in the week. Really, everyone can learn to paint or draw given the right tuition and encouragement and it is amazing the skills you will learn in only one week.

AUTUMN News.....from Pheona & David

Art Holidays In Italy www.artholidaysinitaly.com

November 5th marks our first anniversary here in Italy. What a wonderful year we have had.
After months of glorious heat through June, July and August, suddenly in October, the weather changed. Snow arrived on the hills in mid October and the temperature dropped. Autumn has given us a variety of weathers with rain one day and then lovely sunshine to enjoy the colours of the hills and trees the next.

We continue to find new places of interest to inspire our guests whether artists or walkers, or just 'tourists'.

When we look back at photos taken this time last year we can really appreciate just how much work we have done to the house and garden.......and we are not finished yet!!!!

The 'wooden man' is David's first sculpture - standing in front of the house waving at passing tractors!!

We've also made many day trips with our guests, including - Florence & Pisa,

Porto Venere

and Castellarano

GIFT VOUCHERS

You may want to give a gift voucher this Christmas towards an art or walking holiday with us.
As a special offer until 31st December 2010 we will match the highest valued voucher redeemed against any holiday. Vouchers are available in denominations of £20, £50 or £100. Therefore your gift could be worth twice as much as you actually paid. (not applicable with other special offers or discounts)

We have a variety of vouchers to choose from and we can include a personal message.

New Calendar for 2011
Many of our guests have asked for a combination holiday of walking (or skiing) with art. This is a great idea and so we have put more combination holidays in our 2011 calendar.

We have also added 'portraiture' and 'life drawing' weeks to the calendar. These subjects are Pheona's particular speciality so you can benefit from her expert tuition in those areas. For life drawing we have the beautiful Portugese model Sophia Pan for the week.(centre pic)

Remember also, that we have places for over Christmas and New Year should you decide you might like to spend the festive season in a beautiful location with quiet countryside and lovely food. We also have plenty of evening entertainment so you won't be bored!

Also, we have structured our art courses so that you will learn a vast amount about your chosen art subject in the week you are here.....but you won't realise how much - because the time will just fly!

FOOD
We continue to serve the best of the food (and wine) from the region using traditional Italian recipes. Somehow, magically, our guests eat and drink as much as they want and yet do not put on weight! (seriously) Could this be the lack of additives or e factors, or just fresh pure ingredients? Our food is applauded by guests from abroad, and.....the highest of compliments.....also from our Italian guests.

The forests have had carpets of chestnuts, acorns and walnuts.......Not only are they beautiful to behold - but we gather in all the edibles along with the locals. Mushrooms and truffles are also a local speciality with sacks of these at the markets, roast chestnuts in the street, and truffles in noodles.....mmmmm

STUDIO
We now have a 'stuffo' (a wood burning stove) in the studio so that we are nice and cosy there during the winter months. What a lovely heat and wonderful smell.
Below; David's home baking goes down a treat at break time in the studio, and a portrait of David by one of our regular students, Margareta.

A short newsletter with lots of autumnal photos. The snow should be here any time and we look forward to enjoying winter walking, skiing, boarding, painting indoors and meeting more lovely guests.
