More About Us

We are from Glasgow in Scotland. We moved here to Italy in November 2009. David was a desk bound accountant and Company Director for various firms for over 30 years and Pheona is a professional artist and art tutor. We have renovated two properties in Scotland together, and hope to renovate the barn here beside our house to include a purpose built studio for the painting holidays.

Pheona is the arty one, with a love of anything creative. She paints in oils, watercolours, acrylics, pastels, loves sculpture of all kinds, pottery,.......and will try to make almost anything. She is also a good phtographer and has taught photoshop and digital photography in Scotland, so if you neeed to know anything about taking better photos or just making more use of your camera, she can gladly advise you. She is the gardener and the landscape designer, also the webmaster....anything creative!!

    David in kilt

David plays the guitar and sings and we welcome other musical guests to share thier talents here. He also deals with the behind the scenes work - general handy-man, accountancy, beaurocracy and so on. David loves history, geography and languages and can tell you all about the Matilda castles and the history behind her reign, on tours around the region he will tell you of the local history including the effects of the last war in this particular partisan-strong region.

We are cyclists, hill walkers, ski/snowboarders, climbers, motorcyclists and generally have a go at anything but are not obsessive or fantastic at any sport either. We just enjoy being outdoors and active.

For you this means if you want advice on trails to walk or cycle we can help out. We can advise on local ski-ing, via ferratas, climbs, days out and so on. We have been here nearly 2 years and know the area well. The area is unspoilt and you will find few tourists, and so the many gems of the area are relatively undiscovered.
